Junior Docents

Discover how a museum works and learn how to guide visitors in a discussion about works of art. Kids age 10 to 15 share their passion for the arts and interest in teaching in the galleries. Learn more about junior docent training and what’s new for current junior docents.

Counselors-in-Training

Volunteering at a Michener summer camp is a fun way for teens ages 14-18 to spend part of their summer and a great way to learn about art, education and art museums.

Creative Arts Classes

Register for any of our diverse series of classes for children and teens- learn about drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, comic book illustration, and much more. We also offer classes featuring our special exhibitions.

College Internship Program

The Michener offers credit and non-credit college internships for the summer in a variety of museum departments.   Projects have included work in one of the following departments: education, collections, visitor services, library and Bucks County Artist Database research project, and marketing and public relations.

Internships require a minimum of 15 hours per week for two months and occur between the months of May and August, contingent upon the intern’s college requirements and project availability. Credit and non-credit internships are non-paying.

Academic year internships may be considered based on availability of projects. For more information, please send a letter of interest and resume to: Zoriana E. Siokalo, Director of Programs, James A. Michener Art Museum, 138 S. Pine Street, Doylestown, PA, 18901.  For more information, email zsiokalo@michenerartmuseum.org or call 215-340-9800 x122 .
